Netting
Level: Beginner
Netting is a versatile technique – it may appear freeform; it can be geometric like a snowflake or Mandela, or more traditionally flat or tapering, like an actual net, such as you might find in African jewellery. I relate this skill to drawing with thread and beads, as it promotes creative freedom in shape and imagery.
This lesson covers the basics of using beading thread: including finishing short thread, attaching a new thread, and a variety of options for attaching a clasp. We will also explore embellishments and other mixed media ideas according to your project choice.
I provide thread, needle, beads, and other stringing material necessary for your take-home sample.
