Bead Loom

Level: Beginner

Loom weaving creates a “lizard skin” textured flat band of any length or size. You can weave illustrative or patterned images using a loom, and then sew the work on to any fabric, frame it as artwork for the wall, or wear it as meaningful jewellery.

Learn step by step how to set up the loom properly; how to weave while following a graph; how to add and finish threads; and how to finish the piece neatly and securely with a metal or beaded clasp, all with tidy and hardy craftsmanship.

As you practice weaving, we will discuss bead loom variations and embellishments. I provide you advice on graphing photos and other images for the bead loom, and other advanced variations of this technique.

I provide thread, needles, and seed beads for a small sample for you to take home.
