Stringing
Level: Intermediate
Putting beads onto a string is a simple and extremely relaxing and enjoyable activity. Finishing your jewellery with a clasp can be another affair altogether! No matter what your design, there are decisions to be made for the best and longest lasting results.
I offer my expertise in choosing stringing materials, and elaborate about their respective possibilities for the best results.
Learn my design practice for rich, glorious colours and smooth, soft strands with no bare wire or thread showing, and attractive, comfortable finishing.
Materials discussed include (but are not limited to): stringing wire; beading threads; silk threads; crimping beads and covers; knotting techniques; calottes; and other findings.
You may also require advice concerning your own idea, to combine unique elements or several strands together. This is a good class to receive advice concerning necklaces and bracelets with multiple strands.
I will provide all supplies for your sample. Otherwise, please bring your own beads, clasp(s), and other special findings for a specific project. Feel free to contact me (email is best) if you need any advice.
